I came across this posting while looking for other information. I started to read some of your thoughts I was looking for real life examples of faith and now that it hit me...God led me to you. Your story of putting your life in God's hands will be a perfect illustration for our Sunday school discussion group. Thanks for writing. i am listening.

Pastor Mike, I enjoyed reading your comments specifically on not joining the perfect church - doing so would make it no longer be perfect. And, of course, social networking; some do spread inaneity (that may not be a word but...). I noticed you graduated from LBC. I graduated the year it converted from an institute (LSB) to a college (LBC), and have so appreciated my experience there not to mention I met my husband there. Thank you for all the work you put into your site. I was searching for an outline for Zechariah when I found Spreading the Light.

Words cannot express the sadness I felt whenI heard the news. And you are so right when there are no words that can make one feel better at a time like this. Please know that even though it's been a while, that I still have you both in my prayers. You are a true witness to the Lord with your Faith, and my only hope is that others will see that in you and grow in their own faith from learning from it. Looking forward is the only way to go, and my prayers are with you both....

Dear Pastor, Thank you for your website and your comments. I came across your site while looking for answers regarding Calvinism. There seems to be a controversy in our church currently and families are thinking about leaving because of the Calvinistic beliefs of the pastor and youth pastor. Your explanations have helped me to understand more.
Congratulations on the pregnancy of your first child. I am a physician though not an obstetrician. In my internet surfing I come across critical comments of the medical profession all the time and have never commented but thought you deserved an explanation. I know that you are feeling "nickled and dimed" to death but I would offer that that is not the intention of the professionals taking care of your wife and baby. There is something called the "standard of care" that must be adhered to by all medical professionals or insurance companies will refuse to pay and attorneys will threaten to litigate. Outside forces control so much of what we do that we are hardly free to practice medicine the way we see fit. Always in the back of the mind (or maybe even in the front) of a physician is " In the court of law" can I defend what I am doing for this patient?" Unfortunately this is the climate that has been cultivated in our society over the past few decades. Are all the appointments necessary? Only hindsight would tell us for sure and as physicians we are expected to be able to have the foresight that only God has. In my opinion 99% of the medical profession I have dealt with has only good intentions to take the best possible care of patients ( uhhh...and not to get sued). God blessings to you and your wife as you await the arrival of your child, Dr. Lee
